Are you interested to watch rare photograph of Kannada Matinee Idol Dr Rajkumar. Then visit, Mysore Art Gallery, where Theater Artiste Srikanta Gundappa has displayed more than 900 photographs related to Dr Rajkumar childhood, career, life style, family, his habits, concern towards nature, and much more. The expo concludes on April 27.
The rare collections include marriage invitation of Dr Raj and a marriage pic, Dr Rajkumar posing for a photographs with Amitabh Bachchan, Rajnikanth, Chiranjeevi, Ambareesh, Vishnuvardha, politicans like SM Krishna, Indria Gandhi, Poet Kuvempu and not to forgot our forest brigade Veerappan.
What drew the attention of viewers in large was display of more than 250 Chitrageethe Books, (singing book which was found three decades ago).
Srikanta Gundappa who has collected the paper cutting from last five decades, has displayed the same in the chronological order from black and white to colour, starting from his childhood pictures, his life in village, the first movie Bedara Kanappa in 1954.
His expo also includes list of 209 Movies of which Dr Rajkumar has acted, and besides the list of heroins acted in the movies. Romantic photographs with yesteryear heroins Manjula, Leelavathi, Kalpana, Jayamala, Bharathi, Pandaribai, Jamuna, Arathi, Jayapradha, Padmapriya, Lakshmi have also adorned the walls of gallery.
Continuing the expo takes through his personal life, further depicting the achievements of Dr Raj in the film industry, the award, honours he has obtained, portraying some of the movie cuttings. To showcase the fitness of Dr Raj, his yoga practice photos have been displayed.
The expo concludes with the last journey of Dr Raj, making the viewers emotional. The last rites of Dr Raj, the panic, tension, emotions among his followers have come alive in form of portraits.
Mike Chandru after watching the expo appreciated the efforts of Gundappa to collect and exhbiti the works of Dr Raj. “Rajkumar was a great personality. His every movies leaves a message and was subjected to society.”

Dr Rajkumar's birthday was celebrated by high note across city here on Thursday. The followers of Dr Raj were seen distributing sweets, butter milk for passers by, after garlanding the bust of Dr Raj. In most of the circles, hotels, Dr Raj songs were played on the day, remembering the great soul.
