It was the journey of 50 years. They have come across several ups and downs, but they never give up. To mark the journey in their theater field, a photo exhibition 'Kadama Rangavedike – Rangayana' was held in city.
Rare photographers preserved in the album by five decades (1963-2014) had adorned the walls of Mysore Art Gallery, attracting art lovers in large number. Actors Tugudeep Srinivas, Kalyankumar, Sundar Krishna Urs, Mysore Lokesh, Girija, Vishwnatha Middle who had performed under the banners of Vedike were cynosure of all eyes.
Apart this, renowned personalities like Puneeth Rajkumar, Dr HM Nayak, MS Sathyu, Chidambar Rao Jambe, PR Thippeswamy, Dr Rajkumar, BV Karanth, B Jayamma, Master Hiranayya posing for photograph with Vedike founder Rajashekar Kadama were exhibited.
The theater group is quite popular among Mysoreans, for staging hundreds of mythological, modern, historical and plays based on society values and morals. Directors like HS Umesh, C Basavalingaiah, Sharath contribution to the forum is remarkable.
Speaking after the inauguration, Rajyotsava Awardee Na Ratna said that running a theater for half a century is not a easy task, and lauded the efforts of Rajashekar Kadamba founder of the Vedike.
“The theater troupe has staged all sorts of plays and there was a diversity, creativity in the plays. The theater has produced several number of artistes, and has always encouraged newcomers by giving opportunity,” said Na Ratna, recalling that he to had staged the play under the banner of the Vedike.
Litterateur CP Krishnakumar said that the photo exhibition has given new experience, and its a milestone in the theater field. “Two living art Thater Art and Photography can be witnessed in the expo. The photos remembers the great persons who are not with us today. Most of them wont have the habit of documenting and photoing the movements. Kudos to Kadamaba who has saved the rare photographers,” he added.
Rajashekar Kadamaba said that the theater group was established in 1963, and has ventured out in various aspects since then.
